Faith is a choice you make before the proof arrives, and then act on. A principle of action, not a feeling you wait for. La fe es una decisión que se toma antes de tener la prueba, y sobre la que después se actúa. Un principio de acción, no un sentimiento que se espera.

LearningAprender
We were taught to seek learning by study and also by faith — and that whatever intelligence you gain is yours to keep. Curiosity was never the opposite of belief here. Nos enseñaron a buscar el conocimiento por el estudio y también por la fe — y que toda inteligencia que uno alcanza se la lleva consigo. Acá la curiosidad nunca fue lo contrario de creer.

Nothing worth having arrives finished. Line upon line, precept upon precept: a business, a skill, a marriage, a person. Nada que valga la pena llega terminado. Línea por línea, precepto por precepto: un negocio, un oficio, un matrimonio, una persona.

When you are in the service of another, you are never only doing them a favor. Two years or two minutes, it counts the same. Cuando uno sirve a otro, nunca le está haciendo sólo un favor. Dos años o dos minutos, cuenta igual.

Family is meant to last longer than a lifetime. So we keep the records, turn our hearts to the ones who came before, and leave a light on for whoever is far from home. La familia está pensada para durar más que una vida. Por eso guardamos los registros, volvemos el corazón a los que vinieron antes, y dejamos la luz encendida para el que está lejos de casa.
